Alison provided us with a warm welcome which included a lovely basket of local produce which was very much appreciated. If we needed anything alison and Robbie were only next door but they did not intrude in any way. Fools Haven was delightful, warm and cosy in the cold January climate. The kitchen facilities were next to none and everything we could possibly need was provided. Master bedroom was roomy with plenty of storage while the upstairs bedrooms were a clever use of limited space and would be perfect for children. The main bathroom downstairs was beautiful while the upstairs shower room was very functional. The living area was compact but perfectly adequate for our needs and we spent peaceful evenings in front of the oil fire protected from the elements by the thick cottage walls. Would love to have had the time and circumstances to use the gorgeous barbecue hut in the garden and will definitely do this when we return. Carrick is a great location with easy to access to the antrim coast and Glens and 20 minutes from the Belfast which has become a vibrant and beautiful city to visit. Lots to see and do and nothing too far away. The local train service was excellent and meant we didn’t need to worry about parking in Belfast. We also used the trains for a trip to Dublin which was great and a very relaxing way to travel with very clean carriages and helpful staff. We loved the cottage and the feeling of comfort and security it provided. There was nothing we needed that had not been thought of already by alison and Robbie, down to laundry detergent, condiments and those kitchen basics which allowed us to cook for ourselves without excessive expense. Every conceivable cooking utensil was provided – nothing had been forgotten. The cottage was heated so that at no time did we feel cold, even with all the storms and the frosty mornings. We have a wonderful time and would definitely recommend Fool’s Haven and Carrickfergus.

Thank you for your recommendation, our potential guests and guests will appreciate your comprehensive review. The train does make life easier – you don’t have to worry about finding a parking space in the City and the onward train service to Dublin opens up more history and places to visit and shop. Keep intouch and we are looking forward to a further visit. Best wishes, Alison & Robbie
